HOMEWORK
homework
We believe that Homework is an important part of a students’ learning, to consolidate knowledge and skills developed within lessons, as well as enriching and broadening understanding beyond the formal curriculum.
What is the purpose of homework at Sayda Tutorial Institute?
Homework Guidelines
Teachers will outline details of homework as an assignment using Class Charts. Students and parents/carers will be able to see what has been set, any required information or resources to complete the task and the date that the homework is due.
Students should plan their homework so that they create time to speak to their teacher if they do not understand a homework task. It is therefore important that students do not leave their homework until the last minute.
If students have any questions regarding homework tasks set, they should seek the support of their subject teachers in the first instance. Form Tutors are also available to support students with general issues surrounding organisation.
How much homework will students receive?
At Sayda Tutorial Institute, homework is designed to support learning, not overwhelm learners. The amount of homework given will depend on the learner’s grade level and subject area, but the overall approach is guided by the principle of quality over quantity.
The goal is to ensure that homework is meaningful, manageable, and aligned with classroom learning, while still allowing time for rest, family, and extracurricular activities.
Teachers also integrate SAYDA’s broader programmes and projects — such as innovation challenges and entrepreneurship projects — into homework, making assignments more engaging and connected to real-world applications.
